Meaning of creativity?
Creativity is the capacity or ability of an individual to create, discover or produce a new or novel idea or object, including the rearrangement or reshaping in to a new form of what is already known to him.
Creativity is the capacity of a person to produce compositions, products or ideas that are essentially new or novel and previously unknown to the producer.
Definitions of creativity
·         Creativity is the ability to produce work that is original, but still appropriate and useful.”

Nature of creativity

1.      Creativity is Universal : Creativity is not confined to any individual, sex or cast. It has no boundary of age, location or culture it is universal in nature.
2.      Creativity is innate as well as acquired: Creativity is not merely a hereditary factor it can be nourished and natured by proper training
3.      Creativity carries ego involvement: No other person can experience the same warmth, happiness and satisfaction of the creation as the creator. One’s individuality and identity are totally merged in one’s creations.
4.      Creativity rests more on divergent thinking: Creativity is the result of adventures thinking and a departure from closed thinking.
5.      Creativity is not completely spontaneous: Creativity requires constant understanding, hard work and patience to produce something new and unique.

Stages in creative process

      Creative process involves four distinct stages. They are
1. Preparation
      The problem is analyzed and the plan of action is formulated for its solution. Relevant facts and material are collected for reaching at the solution. A continue effort is made to be tale the problem
2. Incubation
      The solution does not come immediately. The matter is put aside for the time being and the mind is directed to some other channel. This stage inaction is called incubation but the data collected are stored below the conscious level of the mind. The unconscious mind continues to search and a clue is provided for the solution of the problem.
3. Illumination
      The clue leads to the third stage, namely the stage of illumination. At the stage the searcher experiences a sudden appearance of the solutions to the problem.
4. Verification
      During this stage the new theme is checked out to determine whether the solution emerging from the insight is the correct one. The individual rethinks revises and refine the solution.

 The creative child.
     A creative child is one who has got an ability to create discover or produce a new ideas or objects including in the rearrangement or re shaping of what is already known to him. A creative child is curios, remorseful, flexible, open minded, sensitive to problems and shows originality of ideas and expression.
Definition of creative child.
     “A creative thinker is one who explores new ideas and makes new observation, new perditions and new inferences.”

Characteristics of creative children.
1.      He demonstrates originality in ideas and action.
2.      He develops intuition in his problems.
3.      Possesses a high degree of keenness, attentiveness, alertness, and power of concentration.
4.      He is very curios by nature and possesses foresightedness in abundance.
5.      Possesses a high degree of sensitivity towards problems.
6.      He demonstrates the ability to transfer learning from one situation to another.  
Identification of creative children.
1.      By observations of behavior.
2.      By conducting interviews.
3.      By using standardized tests.
4.      By study in the cumulative record.
Roll of the teacher to foster creativity.
1.      Encourage the children to thin about as many ides as they can for the solution of a given problems.
2.      Encourage originality on the part of the children
3.      Provide appropriate opportunity and admosfiur for creative expressions.
4.      Develop healthy habits lie industriousness, persistence, self reliance, self confidence etc.
5.      Eliminate factors lie conservation, un simpatico treatment, fixed and rigid habits of wor , anxiety and frustration, our emphasis on school mars , othoritherion attitude of parents and teachers etc.

7.      Give full freedom for the development their imagination.
